Greencastle traces back to 1967 and sits right along the shoreline of Lake LBJ, built around East and West Greencastle Drive on the city’s east side. Like the rest of Granite Shoals, it was originally part of Sherwood Shores, the 1962 platted subdivision that became the city itself when residents incorporated in 1966.

What’s Actually There
Most Greencastle homes are single-family, first-floor-entry, multi-level floor plans, and the typical layout runs three bedrooms and two bathrooms averaging around 1,500 square feet. Lot sizes vary widely here, from small interior lots to parcels over an acre near the water. There’s no homeowners association in Greencastle, which means fewer shared fees but also fewer shared restrictions, so it’s worth reviewing individual deed records if architectural consistency matters to you.
